"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. " (Matthew 28. 19 and 20.)
As a church we recognise the importance of seizing the great opportunities and needs of the wider world. Some of us have had, or will have, the opportunity to see what God is doing outside our own country. All of us can be encouraged and challenged by Christians of other cultures, and there are ways in which we can help them in their proclamation of the good news of Jesus. By our going, by our giving, by our praying, and by our listening and responding, we can help each other. We believe that World Mission in today’s world is more than a one way process.
What does the FBC External Missions Team do?
Frimley Baptist Church sets aside 25% of its income for Mission related causes and projects, with special appeals at Christmas and Harvest. One of the prime responsibilities of the External Missions Team is the allocation of this substantial amount of money. A number of individuals involved in full-time mission work or in training receive financial and prayerful support, and the following organisations benefit from the church’s giving:
Help is given to encourage those in training for various forms of Christian work or who are engaged in volunteer or short term placements. All such support is given in accordance with Guidelines which are available from the Missions Team if required.
Special events are arranged from time to time to stimulate interest, prayer and giving.
