We meet every Friday during term time from 10-11.30am.
The group is run by volunteers from the church (you'll recognise us by our badges). The session costs £1 per family, per week. There's no need to book in advance, you just turn up whenever you can make it. We provide the environment and a good variety of things to do, whilst each adult remains responsible for their own child/children's welfare and behaviour.
From 10 - 11.15 am, we offer a time of unstructured free play in our large hall. There is a sectioned-off activity area which alternates between 'sit and rides' one week and 'big toys' (ie cube slide, pop-up tunnels, stepping stones and see-saws) the other. The smaller toys in the hall include cars, trains, farmyard animals, a dolls house, a table bead puzzle and a home corner. There is a separate baby area in the main hall, which is also sectioned-off and has a selection of soft baby mats as well as a variety of baby toys.
Drinks and snacks are available from 10.15-10.45am in the lounge and an activity table is also there for the older children. We usually finish off each morning with our "Music Train" song time, where we sing a theme song for the term and a selection of nursery rhymes chosen by the children on the day. We also sing 'Happy Birthday' to those celebrating a recent birthday. We mark special occasions like Christmas and Easter, by running the morning differently. Details of these mornings and other special events are included in our newsletter produced every half-term.
Whether you are a parent, grandparent or carer, why not join us for a morning? - it would be really lovely to meet you.
