Life Groups

Life Groups are the small groups at Frimley Baptist Church. We call them Life Groups because the main aim of these groups is to provide a context where each of us can work out, together with other Christians, how we should actually live this Christian Life.

As a Church we do not just want to generate pew sitters but see lives changed for Christ.

We have therefore made discipleship the main thing and these Life Groups are a fundamental part of how we are seeking to make disciples at FBC.

Learning is for Everyone

One of the core values of our Life Groups is that “Learning is for everyone”- hence L.I.F.E. !

As disciples of Jesus Christ we should all see ourselves as lifelong learners. The Life Group sessions therefore emphasize learning rather than just study. This means that while we do still study the Scriptures and seek to apply them to our lives, we also take seriously the things that happen in our lives and through reflection seek to learn from them.

Doing this with others can be great fun and the supportive relationships we develop through being part of a Life group also help us to learn and to change

Life groups were launched for the first time in January 2011. For this and each subsequent January those who wish to belong to a Life group will need to sign up for the next 12 months. If you have become part of the Church after this sign-up period, you can still join one of the 10 Life groups. Please contact the Life group Co-ordinators, Doug and Lesley Oldaker.
