Babies & Toddlers (BATS)

Friday mornings from 10.00 am during term-time

Word Play Time in blocksThe group is run by volunteers from the church and runs from 10.00-11.30 am every Friday during term-time. The session costs £1 per family, per week.

From 10.00-11.15 am we offer a time of unstructured free play in our large hall. There is a sectioned-off activity area which alternates between 'sit and rides' one week and 'big toys' (e.g. cube slide, pop-up tunnels, stepping stones and see-saws) the other. The smaller toys in the hall include cars, trains, farmyard animals, a dolls house, a table bead puzzle and a home corner. There is a separate baby area in the main hall, which is also sectioned-off and has a selection of soft baby mats as well as a variety of baby toys.

Drinks and snacks are available from 10.00-10.45 am in the lounge. We usually finish off each morning with a song time. We mark special occasions like Christmas and Easter with some sort of special activity. Occasionally during the term we may extend the morning so parents and guardians bring a packed lunch for their children and we provide tea, coffee and cakes for the adults and enjoy lunch together. Details of these mornings and other special events are included in our newsletter produced every half-term.

Whether you are a parent, grandparent or carer, why not join us for a morning? It would be really lovely to meet you.

All dates can be viewed on the Church Calendar.

Planning your Visit

Welcome 4

New to Church?

Welcome!  Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about Frimley Baptist Church.

The Church is involved in many activities, for all ages, some on a Sunday and many in the week. All these activities are explained in more detail under the "What's On" pages.

If you are wondering what would happen if you visited us on a Sunday, here's some information that we hope you will find helpful:

Where and when does the church meet?

Most Sundays we meet at 9:00 am, 10:30 am and 6:00 pm.  The style and content of these three services are quite distinct, but you will be very welcome at any service.  The service pattern is explained on the Sunday Services page and the details of the services this week can be seen on the Home page.

We meet at:
Frimley Baptist Church, Balmoral Drive, Frimley GU16 9AR.
You can see a map on our contact us page

What should I expect when I visit the church?

You will receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go or provide you with more information to take away.

Depending on which service you visit, the content and style will be slightly different, as explained above.  At all services there will be some singing (which you can join in or not!).  At the 10:30 am and 6:00 pm services the minister, or one of the members of the Church will give a talk based on a Bible passage or theme from the Bible. The speakers often use audio visual aids as part of their talk.  The 9:00 am is a communion service with a short reflection from the service leader.

Usually tea, coffee and biscuits are served after the 10:30 am service and before the 6:00 pm service, where there is plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions.

What happens for the children at church?

Other than the first Sunday of the month and through the month of August, we run children's groups in part of the morning service (10.30 am) to which all young people (ages 0-14) are welcome.   Children stay with their parents at the start of the service as we worship (sing songs) together for the first part of the morning.  Someone will announce when the children go to their programme.  You will need to go with your children to register them if it is your first time with us.

For more information about what happens in the children's work please visit the relevant age groups for you under What's On.

Is there a dress code?

No!  Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all!  You are free simply to observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.

I have more questions, how can I get in touch and ask them?

Please feel free to contact us.  If you want to know who works in the Church Office, check out our Leadership and Staff page.
