Statement of Faith FBC round logo letterhead - CO

We believe in one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit who is creator of all things.

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God who is both true God and true man.

We believe in his all-sufficient sacrifice for sin by his death on the cross, his bodily resurrection, his ascension into heaven and his coming again in glory.

We believe in the Holy Spirit who indwells every Christian believer and is the source of our spiritual life, our obedience to God and our Christ-like behaviour.

We believe that through sin we are under God’s judgement and are unable to redeem ourselves.

We believe that a sinner is put right with God through faith in Christ alone, expressed in repentance from sin and commitment to our Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that Christ is the supreme head of his body, the Church, in which every believer is equipped by God with specific gifts.

We believe that the Church is called to glorify God in worship, preach the gospel throughout the world and build itself up in love.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that it is our supreme authority in all matters of faith and Christian living.

Baptist Declaration of Principle LogoBaptists

The Basis of the Baptist Union is:

1. That our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, is the sole and absolute authority in all matters pertaining to faith and practice, as revealed in the Holy Scriptures, and that each Church has liberty, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to interpret and administer His laws.

2. That Christian Baptism is the immersion in water into the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, of those who have professed repentance towards God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ who 'died for our sins according to the Scriptures; was buried and rose again the third day'.

3. That it is the duty of every disciple to bear personal witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to take part in the evangelisation of the world.

On the first and third Sunday of the month we also hold a half an hour, early morning communion service from 9.00 am - 9.30 am.

When worshipping with us, the decision to wear a face mask or socially distance is the personal choice of the individual.

Sunday church serviceWhat should I expect when I visit the church?

You will receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go or provide you with more information to take away.

At our main service there will be some singing (which you can join in with or not!), prayer, a Bible reading, and a talk based on a Bible passage or theme from the Bible. The words of the songs, Bible reading and visual aids during the talk are all projected onto the wall for easy viewing. A weekly produced notice sheet is also available giving details of the various events taking place during the week and news.

ChildrenWhat happens for the children at church?

During our Sunday Morning Services (except in August), we run 'children's church' alongside the morning service to which all young people (ages 0-14) are welcome.  Children stay with their parents for the start of the service and then someone will announce when the children go to their groups.  You will need to go with your children to register them if it is your first time with us. Occasionally some Sundays, we'll have an "All age service" where adults and children stay together to worship, learn and usually laugh a lot! A separate room with toys and crafts for the littluns will be available if the parents/guardians wish to do so. We just ask the parent/guardian to stay with their children throughout the "All age service".

Our Sunday morning service is LIVE streamed over YouTube and parents/guardians of children under 18 are responsible for ensuring their children are not on camera, if they do not wish them to be.

For more information about what happens in the children's work please visit the relevant age groups for you under What's On.
