Although everyone who identifies with FBC as 'their church' is already in a very real sense a member of FBC, we do nonetheless have a Membership scheme which helps express this sense of belonging in an even more definite way. Membership is not about what we can get out of the church but it is an expression of our love for the Lord and our commitment to the Body of Christ.
Twice a year we run a Membership Course to enable those who wish to explore Membership to come along and find out whether this is right for them. Over two evenings we explore membership at FBC in a fun, interactive and engaging way. The course covers subjects such as:
Purpose and calling
Vision and values
Gifting and involvement
Body life and decision making
We do not see membership as being about heavy things like duties and responsibilities, but rather about Benefits and Opportunities, Challenges and Expectations. It is a gift that God offers to us to help us in our discipleship.
Membership is open to anyone who is:
A committed Christian
Has a sense of call to belong to FBC
Has been baptised by Believer's Baptism (or has experienced Baptism in another form to the satisfaction of their own conscience)
If you are interested in attending a Membership Course please contact the Minister.
