Worship at FBC
What are our services like?
Every Sunday morning at 10.30 am we gather for about an hour and a half to sing Christian songs (both modern and traditional), pray, read Scripture and listen to a talk. Most Sundays we run 'children's church' from crèche age up to school year 9 with the children usually joining the start of the service and then going off to their own groups. Occasionally some Sunday, we'll have an all-age service where adults and children stay together to worship, learn and usually laugh a lot!
Our morning service is videoed and live streamed on YouTube, and as such can be viewed by anyone who has access to the internet. Unless you sit at the back of the room, it is possible that you may be briefly caught on camera, and it is assumed that by attending you are giving your permission to be included in this way. It is the responsibility of adults of children under the age of 18 to ensure that their children do not appear on the cameras in this way if they do not wish them to.
You can join the livestream of our service on our YouTube channel, and catch up on previous services, by clicking the FBC LIVE button below.
What about refreshments?
We serve tea, coffee and biscuits after our Sunday morning service.
Do we ask for money?
Everything we provide on a Sunday is free, but people can make a financial gift during the morning service (using the bags provided) that goes to our Community Care Fund. This is used to help support local, national and international needs. This is a freewill offering, so you are not under any compulsion to give towards it.
Do we have any other services on the Sunday?
We run a short communion service at 9.00 am on the first and third Sundays of the month. Before the pandemic we used to hold a weekly 'cafe church' type service at 6pm but this has more recently been replaced with occasional prayer and reflection or praise meetings. Our weekly notice sheet provides details of all our forthcoming services.
